Werri Beach's Amanda Reid, fresh off her gold medal at Tokyo's Paralympics, is one of five stars in contention for female athlete of the year prize - alongside Cate Campbell OAM, Madison de Rozario, Jessica Fox and Nicola McDermott.
Culburra Beach's Owen Wright is one of three athletes in the running for the spirit of sport award, following his and his team's bronze medal celebration at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games.
Wright, who was recently unveiled as a wildcard for the 2022 World Surf League season, is up against Poppy Olsen (sportsmanship) and Stuart Jones (spirit in motion) for the prize.
Finally, Sussex Inlet's Jasmine Greenwood and Minnamurra's Keiran Woolley have been unveiled as finalists for the junior athlete of the year.
The other four athletes in contention are Timothy Brand, Poppy Olsen, Timothy Hodge and Ben Tudhope.
All the winners of the six categories will be announced at the NSWIS awards on Thursday, November 25.
