Two jet skiers came around the headland from the Ulladulla Harbour to the Rennies Beach Bommie and entered the surf zone just in front of a massive set of waves that closed out the beach, according to witness Bill Hill.
“One rider was completely swamped and washed off his jet ski while the other rider maintained control,” Mr Hill said.
The rider who was swamped and knocked off his jet ski was at the mercy of the waves and currents, and was lucky to not be washed onto rocks on either side of the bay
Instead he was washed onto the beach.
“Fortunately this incident wasn't as severe as it could have been, and it's a great example of why people really need to wear life jackets,” Mr Hill said.
