It is unclear whether this was part of the same space junk or something else completely.
Bodalla couple Kirsty Smith and Eric Blue were travelling on the Princes Highway between Moruya and Bodalla on Thursday night when they saw the bright light falling from the sky around 7.15pm.
“A bright light fell straight down out of the sky,” Kirsty said.
“It only lasted a second or two, but whatever it was it looked like it may have landed in the property we were passing at the time.
“We didn't see it land but we both said ‘what the hell was that?’” she said.
The time was about 7.15pm.
Interestingly it wasn't until later that night around 9.45pm that reports started coming in on social media that a bright light was seen streaking through the skies over Victoria, NSW, Tasmania and South Australia.
Kirsty said that there were other cars travelling on the highway at the same time that would also have seen the light.
According to the website Satview Tracking Satellites, there were two forecasts of space junk re-entry forecast to re-enter the earth’s atmosphere on the night of July 10 and July 11.
