It was a great defensive effort by everyone, with six back-to-back sets on the Bulldogs’ line, defending won them the game.
Ebony Murray and Cheyanne Hatch both scored a double, with Ebony kicking two goals.
Players player went to Cheyanne (three points) and Amy Austin (two points).
Coaches award went to the entire team.
Leading point scorer Ebony Murray again found her rhythm after a lay off. It is difficult not to single Murray out as she is by far the leading point scorer in all grades in the Competition.
She returned for the final round a few weeks ago against minor premiers Kiama.
Kiama’s defensive line enabled them to gain a narrow victory not allowing Murray her free running style from the fullback position.
Milton is far from a one person team with Taryn Love running third in the try scoring stakes.
Other consistent players throughout the season have been Amy Austin, also a top point scorer, Cheyanne Hatch, Jessica Little and Emmah Haynes, probably the most improved.
Milton should be at full strength for Sunday’s game with the line-up being Ebony Murray, Georgia Tambree, Georgia Thomas, Amy Austin, Taryn Love, Cheyanne Hatch, Kate Baric, Emmah Haynes, Kiarna Veitch, Ana
Raduva, Kaela Thomas, Jessica Little, Renee Byrne and Jaylee Love.
Former Cronulla Sutherland captain and Kangaroo David Hatch told the Times that he was confident his team would gain victory if they stuck to their game plan based on speed and width.
The Bulldogs WLT were the club’s only representative in the elimination series.
The team did it the hard way when they went down to APOF in the major semi-final.
They had to get past Jamberoo and APOF to earn the right to meet minor premiers Kiama in the grand final.
This is only the second year that Milton Ulladulla has entered a team in the competition.
The grand final will start at 8.30am on Sunday.
Admission prices will be $15, $10 for concession or children under 16 are free.
Gates will open at 7.30am with parking on the day available outside the ground only.
In what a few believe to be an innovation, the match will be played outside the South Coast Group 7 boundary at Collegians Sports Complex, Figtree.
Milton Ulladulla and Nowra Bomaderry are the only two club’s south of Gerringong involved in the grand final.
In first grade Warilla Lake South play Nowra Bomaderry, in reserve grade Gerringong play Kiama, in under 18s Shellharbour City take on Gerringong, and in third grade Albion Park Outlaws play Shellharbour Stingrays.
