Forty-five students were graded on the day, and many competed in the karate, sumo and ground work competitions.
Students were graded in aikido and jodo (Japanese stick fighting).
Four students received their Dan grades.
Olivia Chopping received her first Dan in Aikido, Margaret Bishell received her first Dan in Jodo, Sam Trimby received his second Dan in aikido and Jordon Root received her third Dan in aikido.
The perpetual sportsmanship trophy that has been awarded since 1975 was awarded to Jonah De Salis for his continued effort, training three times a week and his outstanding performances in the ground work and sumo competitions.
Achievement awards went to Fiene Schaap, Michael Tan, Aron Pemberton, Tim Henderson and Byron Powell.
Anyone interested in learning martial arts, Sakura Bana Budo have classes in aikido, jodo- Japanese stick fighting, tai chi and self defence.
