
A large number of RATS travelled to Canberra to participate in various races in the Australian Running Festival. The weather over the weekend was glorious and the social aspect was well enjoyed. It is always uplifting to have the support of those who know just how much goes into getting ready for these events.
The running in Canberra is always challenging at a higher altitude. However, there were some sensational RATS results.
10km Race: Brad Croker, 1st outright in 31.15; Martin Tomasini, 1st (M60-69) in 42.06; Viviana Parish, 6th (F20-29) in 43.41.
5km Race: Jake Ring, 3rd outright in 16.37
Half Marathon (21.1km): Gay Shearman, 6th (F50-59) in 1.47.57; Jodie Toghill, 1.51.18; Aimee Randall, 1.51.36; Kim Waters, 1.53.37; Cheryl Bellet, 1.58.00; Bob White, 2.00.33; Lauri Perino, 2.09.51.
Gloria Jeans Forster 5km Fun Run: Two of Ulladulla's RATS headed north and competed exceedingly well over the weekend in Forster.
