After 36 years at IRT, Christine Williams, General Manager of Lifestyle and Care for Southern NSW and ACT, has announced her retirement.
Christine started at IRT Towradgi Park as a Registered Nurse in July 1980.
Since then, she has built a reputation for her strong work ethic and bank of knowledge which has made her popular with residents and staff alike.
“When I first started at IRT, there was no such thing as computers. When I got my first computer in the 90s, I thought, ‘what am I meant to do with this thing?’ she said.
“I had no idea. It was so funny. I also remember that Registered Nurses had to wear veils when I first started.”
Christine has witnessed enormous growth at IRT during her career, including positive changes to resident care, funding and technology.
As Christine ventures into retirement, she plans to keep busy with volunteer work, travelling, and spending time with her family.
