The ‘Dob in a Dealer’ campaign will run over the next two weeks.
During this time police and Crime Stoppers will conduct community-engagement activities designed to educate on the dangers of illicit drugs and highlight the role members of the public play in helping police shut down drug-manufacturing syndicates and arresting drug suppliers.
“There is no place for prohibited drugs in our community – and we’ve seen time and time again the devastating impact they can have on people’s lives,” Shoalhaven Local Area Commander, Superintendent Stephen Hegarty said.
“In recent months, Shoalhaven police have been working closely with other Local Area Commands to target drug manufacturers and suppliers.
“Operation Idlewild recently saw prohibited drugs – with an estimated potential street value of more than $500,000 – seized from multiple properties, and a number of people put before the courts.
“The message is clear – we will not tolerate criminals distributing harmful substances within our community and if any homes in your neighbourhood raise suspicions, please contact Crime Stoppers.
“Make no mistake – this is happening in our community and what you know could be the key to helping police shut down a drug house,” Supt Hegarty said.
If you have information about someone who is manufacturing or dealing in ICE call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
