NSW Ambulance paramedics are stabilising the man, before he is expected to be airlifted to hospital.
A female, also 37, was seriously injured in the crash. A five-year-old boy was taken to hospital via road Ambulance with facial injuries.
“The man will be taken to a major trauma hospital in Sydney,” a NSW Ambulance spokesman said.
“The female will also be flown to hospital.”
Matron Porter Drive is closed in both directions.
EARLIER: A person is trapped in a vehicle and others are injured after a two car crash on Matron Porter Drive, Narrawallee.
The crash, near Frogs Holla sporting fields, happened shortly before 4pm on Thursday, January 11.
Emergency services are on the scene treating at least three patients, including a child. The road is closed from the Princes Highway at Milton.
NSW Ambulance Media spokesperson said a 37-year-old male driver was trapped with a fractured left femur, pelvis, right wrist and fibula.
A witness on the scene said “up to nine people” were working to free the man, going in through the boot of the car.
“The car is being dismantled to remove the man,” they said.
“They are using the jaws of life.”
A 37-year-old female had abdominal injuries, a fractured right tibia and fibula. Meanwhile, a five-year-old boy was taken to hospital by road with facial injuries.
Two helicopters have landed to transport the adult patients to hospital.
There are four Fire and Rescue crews on the scene and four NSW Ambulance vehicles.
