Months of work between family and friends ensured the princesses’ floats, many inspired by films, cartoons and books, rolled past without a hitch for the Milton Ulladulla Ex Servo’s Blessing of the Fleet parade.
Friends and families, dressed in creative and colourful costumes, danced, sung and waved as they walked past the crowd.
The winning float was Australia with princess Danielle Holt accompanied by Lachlan Blake aboard.
Marching bands and local emergency services joined the parade to cap off the well-supported community event.
Father Michael Dyer led the traditional blessing ceremony before he took to the water and blessed numerous boats in the Ulladulla Harbour.
Princesses Alana Doyle and Keele Browne were aboard the first float of the parade – Croods – as ball winner Grace Sullivan is currently playing rugby union in Hong Kong.
Mick Browne, who was part of his fourth parade, said it was tough to dance on the Croods float.
“A moving truck is a challenge of a dance floor,” he said.
“[But] it’s good to see the smiles on the kids faces and it brings so many people here.”
