It was a warm and humid night for tennis last Thursday. Thanks to Katrina and Michiko for filling in at short notice for Jo and Laraine.
Laraine was too enthusiastic at Monday tennis and stretched so hard to reach a ball she tore her hamstring. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Laraine and take it easy!
Results on 12/4 were: Shalhoub defeated Simon 5 sets to 1 with Stacey and Mary Lou winning 3 sets each. Walker defeated Blondinau 5 sets to 1 with Lara and Sue winning all their sets.
The point scores are Walker 54, Shalhoub 42, Simon 24 and Blondinau 24. There will be no comp on April 19 and 26 due to the school holidays.
Harris Scarfe Monday Ladies Summer Competition
There will be no comp matches on April 23 and 30 due to the school holidays, however social tennis will be played starting at 9.30 for those interested in coming along for a hit. All ladies are welcome, even if you’re not usually playing in the Monday Competition.
School Holiday Clinics
Children’s tennis coaching clinics with our club coach Kevin Murphy will be running this week at the Ulladulla Tennis courts in Warden Street near the Leisure Centre.
Clinics are suitable for all skill levels and include full court coaching with team games and challenges and prizes to be won. Arrive at 8.45am to register for a 9am start concluding at 1pm.
Starting on Monday, April 16 and going through until Friday, April 20, players can choose to participate on one, two, three, four or all five days at a cost of $30 per day or $140 for the 5 days. For bookings and enquiries phone Kevin Murphy on 0417 359 721.
Winter Bakers Delight Saturday Morning Junior Competition Starts soon
It’s now time to let Kev know if you want to play in the Saturday Morning Junior Tennis Competition starting on May 5, if you haven’t already.
This is a relaxed competition for boys and girls aged about 8-16 and consists of singles and doubles matches played in teams across 2 divisions. It’s a great introduction to tennis and develops teamwork and strategy.
Starting at 8.30am matches are usually finished by 11am. Players must be able to score, serve and have a rally as well as be a club member to be eligible to play. Reserves are always needed if you can’t commit to playing every week.
