The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men’s mental health. Events in more than 600 cities and towns internationally will be held on Sunday, September 30.
Last year, the inaugural Ulladulla event raised $26,000, more than the amount raised by 900 riders at the Paris event.
“We raised more than Paris, Rome, Berlin, Amsterdam. We were the 61st fundraiser around the world,” Ulladulla event organiser Peter Percy said.
“I think everyone felt great. For a little town like this, it’s great. We had 90 riders, compared to the hundreds others have.”
Mr Percy said he wanted to raise more for the cause at this year’s event.
The event will see riders meet in Milton at 8am, before leaving for to laps through Mollymook and Ulladulla. They will then stop at the Ulladulla Civic Centre for an hour, before returning to Milton.
“It is a fantastic spectacle, and a social day for the riders,” Mr Percy said.
“People lined the route last year, and loved it.”
Riders dress up for the event, and females are more than welcome to join.
“It is important that riders look at the style guide online, and go to the op shop and look the part,” Mr Percy said.
Rob Beaver took part in last year’s event, and has already signed up for the 2018 event.
Riding since a kid, Mr Beaver said the ride touched a nerve with him after navigating health issues himself.
“It is a great event,” he said.

“You feel proud, and a sense of camaraderie when you’re on that ride.”
Mr Percy urged people to get behind the ride to attract people to the town.
“The only way you can put this place on the map, is to host successful events and attract tourism,” he said.
“The benefit if of course for the charity, but it is also good for the town.”
Bill Frazer said he was “amazed” at all the old bikes at last year’s event.
“There were 80 odd beautiful bikes that I didn’t know existed here. To see them out of the shed and on parade was just fantastic.”
