Funds raised throughout the year were earmarked for low-low beds, to ensure patients’ falls would be limited.
Recently the Milton Ulladulla Hospital Auxiliary donated $18,000 for five new low-low beds to be purchased and installed.
Four beds will be used in the special patients’ room, auxiliary president Judy Bond said. One bed will be used for patients over six foot.
“The low-low beds can put right to the ground,” Mrs Bond said.
“The beds are to stop patients falling. They’re nice-looking beds.”
The auxiliary has also donated four recliner chairs. The chairs are colour-coded to match the bed heads of each bed, Mrs Bond said.
Mrs Bond praised the wider Milton-Ulladulla community for its donations.
“We really need to thank the public. We do the fundraising, but the public give us money, donations and attend our stalls,” she said.
