Cupitt’s Winery and Restaurant has been inducted into the NSW Tourism Awards hall of fame, after picking up yet another gold medal on Thursday evening.

The venue took out the gold medal in the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category for the third year running, gold in the Excellence in Food Tourism category and bronze in the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services category.
Customer Experience Manager Libby Cupitt said she was ecstatic to receive the Excellence in Food Tourism Award, as it was the first time the venue had entered the category.
“Being producers of beer and wine and cheese and doing tours and offering really unique food and wine experiences, we thought we might be in for a shot,” she said.
“But I really didn’t expect to take out the gold, so we are very, very pleased.”
Mrs Cupitt also credited her hardworking team role their role in the awards.
“Every single award we get is a team effort,” she said.
“Their enthusiasm and passion and desire to be excellent is what makes our business really special.”
Cupitt’s began eleven years ago as a winery, restaurant and cellar door, and has continued to cement itself a food and wine hot spot, not just in the South Coast, but across NSW. The winery has since expanded to include a micro- brewery and cheese making facility.
Managed by the Tourism Industry division of the NSW Business Chamber, and proudly supported by the NSW Government, the NSW Tourism Awards celebrate and acknowledge tourism excellence in NSW.
Shoalhaven Tourism also picked up a gold medal, taking out top spot in the Destination Marketing category for the 100 Beach Challenge Campaign.
Illawarra Business Chamber executive director Adam Zarth said he was incredibly proud that South Coast businesses had been labelled as some of the stat’e best destinations.
“Our winners are crucial to the success of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven tourism economy, one of our region’s most important and growing sectors,” he said.
“Cupitt’s and Shoalhaven Tourism richly deserve the accolades they received last night and exemplify the high standard and diverse range of tourism experiences on offer in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.”
Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall congratulated the winners.
“Tourism is big business and it’s a vital industry to our state’s economy so to be recognised at the NSW Tourism Awards is an outstanding achievement and I thank all of the winners for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to offering the very best tourism and events experiences,” Mr Marshall said.
“The NSW Visitor Economy is the envy of every other State, with the greatest share of domestic and international visitors, visitor nights and expenditure, and an impressive calendar of major events across Sydney and rural and regional NSW,” said Mr Marshall.
