Shoalhaven Tourism has printed 100,000 copies of the 68-page guide, which includes the popular 100 beach challenge pull-out, editorial content with top tips and a service directory.
According to Tourism Research Australia, about one-third of the region’s total visitors report their main purpose as “visiting family and friends”.
The friendly Shoalhaven Visitor Services team, including staff from the Nowra Centre and from the pool of Volunteer Ambassadors, will be out in region again this summer, with the mobile tourism van set up in White Sands Park, Huskisson.
Following “great feedback” last year, the team will handle enquiries, share information about the 100 Beach Challenge and go through the brand new 2019 Shoalhaven Visitor Guide throughout the summer holidays.
Managed by dedicated local committees, there will be a mobile information centre at Vincentia in the Burton Street Mall, and also at Sussex Inlet in the main street near the theatre.
These will operate from Boxing Day until January 13. Visitor Services at both Nowra (Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, Bridge Rd) and Ulladulla (Civic Centre and Library, Princes Highway) will be open almost every day throughout the school holidays.
Christmas Hampers from $20 made from local produce, arts and crafts are also available from Shoalhaven Visitor Services in Nowra and Ulladulla.
Shoalhaven Tourism Manager Coralie Bell said the guide always has something fresh for visitors and locals to explore.
“Make sure you stop by and say hello to our Visitor Services team, either out in region over Summer or at the centres – grab a copy or two to share with your visiting family and friends,” Ms Bell said.
You can also download or request a copy of the guide at www.shoalhaven.com/guide, or if you are a local business and would like some guides to share with your customers, contact Joe at joe.puglisi@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au or call on 0403 186 688 and organise to pick them up at Nowra or Ulladulla Visitor Centres.
