The year 10 students entered the primary schools to perform a class script Trouble in Storyland.
Having collaborated on the script, cast, costumes, set design and then undertaken the process of rehearsal, these students performed with flair and professionalism as they took their audiences on a journey that explored fairness, friendship and honesty, drama teacher Victoria Jauncey said.
With Mrs.Disney (Kirsten) planning a ball for her husband, there is trouble in Storyland when several of the princesses Cinderella (Shonte), Rapunzel (Jason), and Belle (Aimee) go missing:
All are under suspicion and a kidnapping is unveiled by the mystery gang of Velma (Lizzie), Fred (Angus), Scooby (Hailey), Shaggy (Jasmine), and Daphne (Aimee).
Various antics ensue and a cast of uninvited miscreants including Gaston (Holly), Stepmother (Nathan), Gothel (Liam), King Louie (Caitlin) Larry (Sophie), and lead by Maleficent (Chloe) are revealed and questioned.
A dastardly plot is unravelled with the help of Tinkerbell (Hayley) and Peter Pan (Issy) while the Beast (Eve) makes us think twice before judging someone by how they look.
Needless to say it is a sparkling script, performed with all the engagement of a committed cast who take the audience on a journey as they sit amongst them and seek their insights and, at one point, their shoes!, Ms Jauncey said.
Across the three schools the students have performed to audiences exceeding 1200, and at every turn created belief and delight, a standing ovation is their due.
