Tuesday May 7 Today we hosted the District Grade 4 Pennant Sectional Playoff between Sussex R.S.L. and Our neighbours Mollymook. Congratulations to Sussex R.S.L. in winning the No 4 Pennant. President Cheryl had several announcements for our members . Firstly our congratulations must go to the Men's Club Grade 5 who have won the Northern Section and travel to Moyura on Sunday May 18, for their playoff, "Good Luck fellas". Our own combined Pennant Flag Raising for our two successful teams, Grade 5 and 2 will be now held on Tuesday June 18, this will delay the first round of our Club Major Consistency Championship until Thursday June 20. Delegate Report will be posted on the board, one note able item is concerning player movement under Conditions of Play for most events, please take the time to become familiar with these rules. Adjacent to the Pennant play off rinks our ladies enjoyed their social bowls playing 4s. Our rink winners for the day were Swinger Pam Geering, Carol Monte, Trudy Piazzo, Glenyce Pendlebury. Raffle winners were Lyn Rippon, Kay Smith (Mollymook), Jo Cattley.
Thursday May 9: The selectors chose to treat us to a pre -Mother's Day fun game. Paddle pop stick draw Turn Around Triples. This proved to be very successful with much laughter and frivolity. The twist was that the Rink prizes were awarded to the teams coming in the closest second (losers being an unkind word) , the Rink "winners" were Carolyn Bell, Lynne Jackson and Gerri Miller, with the runners up Lyn McFadden, Sandra Crimmins and Roz Jamieson. We also had a mega Mother's Day raffle with many ladies taking home some beautiful prizes. A Big Thank you to Graham Davidson who donated a lovely Butterfly painting.
Women's Bowls NSW have just released the Fees schedule for the upcoming year 2019-2020 and have made an increase as well as a new 2 tier system. As we have all just received our fees notice from the main club please be aware there may be extra costs added. The matter is sure to come to attention during the Quarterly Meeting this Thursday 16/5/19 9am start, all members are urged to attend; Bowls will follow the meeting.
Mollymook Roadrunners
Twenty-six Roadrunners enjoyed perfect weather last Sunday for their social bowls. Three games of triples and one of pairs were played with the following results: Alan Hayman, Diane Field and Paul Barnes 22 overcame Bob Field, Judy Henderson and Trish Moy 14. Lyn Dolbel, Mike/Wendt Lynn and David Henry 25 outplayed Elaine Lill, Brian/Judy Thurecht and Peter Champion 15. Ros Hackett, Eric King and Wayne Drury 22 saw off Craig Lees, Leon Lill and Geoff Watson 16. Jack Field/Roy Booth and Wayne Manning 23 were too good for Calvin Hackett and Sue Dent/Bob Brooks 10. Thank you to Graham Corby for a welcome BBQ lunch. Next Sunday we will be back to normal bowls with the cards being called for an 9.00 start.
Milton Ulladulla Men
The fabulous 5's have just won the district flag after a very good pennant season. They started very slowly, but built the momentum over the 10 rounds and finished with a bang at the Basin to take out the last game 8 points to 2. From here they travel to Moruya on election day for the playoffs and we would love to see as many spectators as possible get down there to cheer them on. The other side with an outside chance to take a flag was the 6's who had a good 9 1/2 -1/2 win at Sussex R.S.L. but unfortunately other results didn't go their way and so they will have to wait until next year to have another crack at it. At home, there were two games - the two's went down 0-10 to a very strong Berry side, and the mighty 7's had a real good 9-1 win over Callala. Thank you all for participating in this year's pennant competition: - especially the selectors who had a very thankless task but did it in a very fair manner, and not forgetting the players, managers, umpires, caterers and all the anonymous helpers who helped make it the season it was, and don't forget this Saturday's end of pennant function which is open to all members, both full and social, so get your names on the board before the entry form comes off. This week also saw quite a few major singles games played and the results are as follows:- Phill Grabham def. Chris Godwin; Rob Cattley def. Eric Bell; Ian Fraser had a win over Bob Boyd; John Cleverly was successful over Mick Duprez; Graham Cooper def. John Sparkles; and Gary Kiff was victorious over Sir Ronald Webster.
Saturday saw a great game of bowls between Dave Munt and Kiffy to see who would progress to the semi-finals of the major singles. Dave got out to a very good lead but Gary just would not let him get away, and gradually whittled down the difference to tie it all up at 28 all. With Kiffy holding a couple of shots, Dave with his second last bowl, trailled the jack to lie 2 shots and Gary could not draw inside them, so Dave, with his last bowl drew the third to take the game 31-28. Sunday saw the last of the quarter finals played on a beautiful afternoon between Phill Grabham and Rob Cattley and as it turned out, the winning margin was the same as the Saturday game, and the quality of bowls the same. The game ebbed and flowed with some very good draw bowls being played, but gradually Rob pulled away to a bit of a lead. Phill just would not give up and clawed back the margin with some very good bowls to tie it up at 28 all. The last two ends were just as tight as the previous 30 but Phill managed to get his bowls closer to the jack, but it wasn't through lack of trying on Rob's part. And so Phill ran out the winner 31-28 after a very good game of bowls.

CHAMPIONSHIPS: The final of the the Tony Hutchins' Presidents Pairs was a very close contest between Brian Thurecht/Andrew Jarvis (126) & Paul Barnes/Geoff Watson (127). Only two 10's were carded, one to each team & after 23 ends Brian & Andy needed 11 whilst Paul & Krusty wanted 12 to win the trophy. Brian & Andrew prevailed however, to win 0/9. Round 2 of the Major Singles results: G.McGuire d. J.Wilton 31/17; D.Harrison d. A.Jarvis 31/27; D.Clark d. S.Brand 31/25; T. Hutchins d T. Fraser 31/29; P.Barnes d. K.Jones 31/21 & in earlier matches D.Prestage d. M.Keegan 31/27, likewise D.Bradshaw d. D.Nelson 31/20.
SOCIAL: Wednesday Triples: Ron Wall's young brother from Thirroul was warmly welcomed however lucky rink winners (aided by your scribe) were Roy Sinclair, John Venn & John Sherriff. The newly introduced "lucky losers " vouchers ( a dubious award ?) was won by Gary Wisniewski, John Stevens & Kevin Ross. Friday's Open Pairs: With the jackpot at $960 competition was naturally fierce between the 44 in attendance. Craig Lees & Les Dunn with +5 against Terry Hill & Denise Page had the big chance. Unfortunately for them the jackpot escaped them & will be over a grand this Friday. The $120 prize went to the Booth & Road Block, Mark's H.B Shout to Wallie & the Menace & the KENO voucher to Croc & Andy. Note: Friday's starting time will be 30 mins later (8-30) for breakfast & the game during winter.

Another big weekend for the Doggies, it was great to see our players having fun and being great sports out on the field. We would also like to thank those who volunteered to help us make the day run smoothly as with both junior and senior games on the same day resources where spread thin.
Thank you to all parents who have been stepping up to assist in the canteen and on the BBQ, the canteen is one of the clubs biggest revenue raisers, without parent helpers the canteen will not be able to operate.
This weekend there are no international games as it is a designated wet weather weekend for any previously rained out matches, which this season so far we are lucky to have not encountered.
This Saturday see's the U18 girls tackle competition return to Ulladulla with our Doggies taking on Stingrays, it's the Stingrays first season in the tackle competition however like our Doggies they had several players in the grand final-winning Illawarra Steelers team, the game kicks off at 1pm so come along and support the girls.
The NRLs new Code of Conduct for 2019 has been published and copies of this can be found on our Facebook page and website, this applies to not only players but also spectators so please take the time to read it.
Club merchandise is available in the canteen, we currently have on order more hoodies as they have been in strong demand with the winter chill on its way, we have hoodies from size 4 to 3XL (larger sizes available by request), polos from size 6 to 4XL, training shorts, hats, gear bags, spare previous season shorts and socks.
Our weekly meat raffles at the Ex Servos continue each week we ask a team and their families to come along and support and assist us with the raffles, this week it is the U14 GLT teams rostered turn to assist at our raffle. Ticket sales commence at 6pm, with the draw for the 40+ meat trays commencing at 7pm. By supporting our raffles you in turn are supporting our major sponsor Ulladulla Ex Servos, the club has lots to offer on Friday night apart from our raffles, there is the kids club, dining in their new Southside Restaurant, Friday night footy live on the big screen and live entertainment.
Keep up to date on all things Junior Doggies via Facebook and our website.
U8 Blue: Well done team another great team effort with everyone who took the field performing well in both attack and defence. Week to week your all improving and gaining more confidence. Still a little more training and focus on setting our defence line and mainly ensuring you all get a fair share of runs with the ball. There were plenty of long zigging and zagging runs confusing the Culburra white team. Huge runs by Josh, Cecil, Wally, Sam P and especially Charlie who seemed to have spiders on him scaring Culburra, who could barely get near Charlie for a tackle. Solid defence from Sam P, Lucas, Jacob, Eli, Hunter and Sam S. Well done 8s Blue.
