The frigid weather followed hot on the heels of last weeks' fires.
At 3.50am, on Tuesday, June 4, winds of up to 130 km per hour buffeted the region.
Ulladulla SES was busy overnight and into this morning, repairing damage caused by the storm.
A severe weather warning remains in place for the South Coast, with strong, gusty winds and hazardous surf expected.
The forecast for the rest of the day is cloudy, with a continuing chance of showers. Winds are expected to be south-to-southwesterly, at 30 to 45 km per hour, although there may be winds of up to 70 km per hour. The wind is expected to ease int the evening.
The maximum temperature is expected to be between 8 and 14.
Coastal activities such as rock fishing, swimming and surfing are not recommended, due to hazardous surf conditions.
