Plan and organise that designated driver.
Be patient on the roads and wait for that opportunity to overtake using overtaking lanes rather than taking unnecessary risks.
Impatient driving is a contributing factor in a lot of accidents.
Indications of impatience are speed, driving too close to the car in front (tailgating), taking unnecessary risk to get around a slower vehicle, excessive speed through car parks.
Local drivers, be patient of other road users visiting the area who may not be familiar with the roads, locations and exits.
Is it worth that horn blast and abuse, let it go we are all visitors in unfamiliar areas at some time or other.
Don't even consider driving if you have been drinking, if in doubt, don't.
If you are setting off out of the area for a road trip, rest before leaving and remember to have that short stop and break every two hours, if you need longer take the time to rest before setting off again.
If visiting local licensed premises and clubs watch your alcohol consumption and behaviour don't be on the receiving end of an infringement notice or a court attendance notice.
Watch your property when out and about, secure your bags, wallet, phones when in recreational areas.
Don't leave them unattended.
Everyone stay calm, behave and be patient and a good weekend will be had by all.
