The paramedics were called to reports of the plane crash on Nerriga Road, Braidwood.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Steven Owen told Australian Community Media responding paramedics found the scene.
"Upon arrival paramedics were faced with a devastating scene," he said.
"The male pilot was the sole occupant of plane and his injuries were life threatening. Tragically, on arrival NSW Ambulance paramedics were unable to provide any assistance and the pilot was deceased on scene."
Police also attended the property shortly after 11.30am on Tuesday.
A crime scene was established and police were working with Australian Transport Safety Bureau investigators as inquiries continue.
