Although the new community health centre in Ulladulla won't be finished until 2020, services including community nursing and early childhood health clinics, are still available in the area.
Community nursing, allied health and early childhood health clinics have been relocated to the Milton Ulladulla Hospital's Outpatient and Renal Outpatient Clinics, while counselling services have remained in the Ulladulla CBD.
Child and family counselling services has been relocated to Ulladulla Youth Centre while health promotion, child protection counselling services, and VAN Services were relocated to 136a Princes Highway Ulladulla.
Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District executive project director, Suzanne Harris, said the old centre would be replaced with a new multi-storey building.
"The HealthOne Ulladulla Project ... will provide community health services under the HealthOne model," she said.
"The development application for HealthOne Ulladulla has been approved and the project is expected to be completed in 2020.
"The contract for the construction works for the project has been awarded to Zauner Constructions."
The NSW Government says the HealthOne model: "aims to create a stronger and more efficient primary health care system by bringing Commonwealth-funded general practice and state-funded primary and community health care services together."
Private health and social care providers may also be included, for example pharmacists, dental services, private allied health professionals, government agencies and non-government organisations.
