A Greynurse shark has been a popular tourist attraction since it was spotted earlier this year. Signs with information about the species have been installed at the diving platform near the beach park.
A NSW DPI spokesperson says Fisheries is aware of the shark and continues to consult with Shoalhaven City and the local community.
"The shark is not in any obvious distress and does not appear to have any health issues. DPI and Council will continue to monitor the situation to determine if relocating the animal is necessary and feasible in terms of animal welfare and human safety."
Conjola Community Association president Robyn Kerves said as far as Fisheries was aware, there was only one shark.
"It has been spotted off Chinaman's Island, but they are unsure how far up stream it has been going."
