A fairly quiet week, some bowlers maybe were resting a little prior to the North versus South battle this Saturday morning (7th) followed by the presentation luncheon. Wednesdays two bowl triples had 36 1/2 bowlers somehow organised to give the duty officer a roll-up, thanks Ted! John Wilton , Lindsay Hawken & Bionic Bob Field cleaned up Babblin', Scoop & Ron Wynter 27/16 to win the $60 lucky rink vouchers. (We were resting!). Lucky losers were Chris Machon, Bird Man Bob & Ted. with a 29/16 loss to Terry Hill's crew. Thirty two contested the Friday Open Pairs with the jackpot standing at $400. It was not won. However the $120 prize for the five random ends went to Barnsy & Krusty. They scored 10 points within their 33/9 win over Dave & Dennis. Marks birthday HB SHOUT went to Eric Woodburn & Dave Henry, an unlikely pairing as they will be the opposing captains & therefore enemies for the Norths vs South bash. Clarkie & Flinny invested the $15 KENO voucher
Good news: Al Wynter has been released from hospital and is with family 'till Christmas. The Sheet is on the board for the Tony Field memorial game between Lake Conjola to be played this year at Mollymook, Friday 13th evening.
Mollymook Beach Women
Our annual Odds and Evens day was held last week, with bowlers arriving in colourful attire-blue or green if your bowls number is odd and pink or purple if your bowls number is even. It was a fun day, where the scores were close on many rinks. However at the end of the day, Captain of the Odds team, Kerry Machon, accepted the winners trophy for the year. Well done all and thanks for your contributions in making this an enjoyable and successful day.
Upcoming events: All members are welcome to our Christmas party which will be held on Tuesday 10th December after Bowls. This will be our last day of bowls for the year. Lunch will be served at 12.30pm. We look forward to the entertainment, provided by members!
Thank you to our members who have brought in many non-perishable items for our annual Giving Tree. These will be collected by a member of the Community Resources Centre for distribution to local families in need. The last day to bring in items is Thursday 5th December. Wishing all our members and their families a Merry Christmas and health and happiness in the New Year. The first day of bowls for 2020 will be Tuesday 7th January.
