Twenty-five Roadrunners were joined by 27 bowlers from the Worrigee Sports Social Bowlers, known as the Worrigee Wanders, for a very enjoyable game of bowls last Sunday morning. Six games of triples and two of fours were played and the results didn't matter as the games were played in great spirit.
A very well received lunch, prepared by Jacks on the Green, followed, as well as much socialising. The Wanders are comprised of bowlers from a number on Bowling Clubs in the Nowra area (Nowra, Bomaderry, Worrigee, etc) who come together in order to visit other Clubs and host return visits. A return visit is planned for 5th July.
The winning rink was the team of Richard Grayson, Sue Dent, Diane Field and Craig Lees each received a fresh chicken and the losing rink of Paula Bown, Eilleen Hunter and Alex Lattanzio received half their green fees back. Of the seven raffle prizes on offer, six went to Worrigee.
Congratulations must go to Captain Kaos, Bob Brooks, for his organisational skills in bringing off a successful day.
Next Sunday we will be back to normal bowls with the cards being called for an 9.00 start.

The second round of the Major Singles was played last Saturday afternoon. Some of the results were outstanding & completely unpredictable!
Ron Wall was devastating against Ted Fraser with a 31/8 win. Last year's runner-up Paul Barnes met a very determined (as usual) John Wilton who took the lead immediately & never relinquished it to win 31/13. Four times club champ Sid Brand started well & led 30/25 after 26 ends aginst Mike Keegan despite "stalling" on 27 for for 4 ends & thence 30 for another 3 whilst the Keg closed the gap to be one shot behind. With Sid holding two near touchers it looked all over however the Keg sent down a "miracle"' bowl to split Sid's shots a gain the winning two!
Dave Harrison had to play well against Dave Adamson who was always a chance until the last four ends, score 31/20. Previous club champion Alan Montifiore had a slow start versus newer bowler John Sherrif, 13/2 after 7 ends & 27/13 after 22 ends. Alan held him on 27 for 6 ends & then 29 for three more. A couple of singles was enough for John, final score 31/23. Undoubtably the match of the day was that beween Matt Griffith & Nick King, a 42 ends marathon that took over 4 hours to complete. The standard of play was brilliant, but Nick was certainly out bowled by Matt earlier who led 18/8 after 20 ends, thence 24/12 after the 27th. As often happens those last few winning shots are the hardest to get & in the next 10 ends Matt could only manage 3 shots whilst Nick equalled the match 27 /27 all & the battle was really on. The advantage kept changing almost ever shot, but at 29/29 a two from Nick saw the end of an outstanding match.
SOCIAL: The monthly Nominated Triples jackpot at $180 was won by Dave White, Rob Morton (M-U) & Geoff Travis. Lucky losers were Craig, Dennis & Bob Hanchard. Friday's Open Pairs jackpot at $960 was not won. Random rink winners were Markus & the Keg. NOTE Super Singles entry form is up, play Tues 11th Feb.
