The trainer and jockey duo opened at day, raced on a soft five track, with victory in the 1100 metre class one handicap with Nicci's Fling.
This three-year-old filly won by 2.5 lengths from Robert and Luke Price's Show Tickets - with Jason Coyle's Belle of Clonmel in third.
The pair backed it up the very next race, in the 1400 metre maiden handicap.
Three-year-old colt The Empire powered to victory by 2.3 lengths from Stuart Warden's Westgrove and Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott's Fast Melody.
Portelli and O'Hara's final strong performance of the day came in the 1100 metre maiden plate, where they were beaten by 0.1 length by John Thompson's Beautified.
Former Nowra-based trainers Robert and Luke Price didn't go empty-handed though, as they finished both first and third in the 1600 metre benchmark 66 handicap.
First Courrier, jockeyed by Brock Ryan, took line honours from Anthony Cummings' Donnachiara and the Price's All Tiara.
In other results on the day, Jason Coyle's No Complaints won the 2200 metre class one maiden plate, ahead of Lynda Bundy's The Boomerang and Matthew Dale's Sunstone.
Mirror Model, trained by Richard and Michael Freedman, was first across the line in the 1600 metre maiden plate, edging out Anthony Cummings' Shadow Girl by 2.8 lengths.
Finally, Clarry Conners' Skyray dominated the 1100 metre benchmark 58 handicap, finishing ahead of Natalie Jarvis' Sarnaza by two lengths.
