Heading into the 2020-21 campaign, Wells, since starting his Sydney career with St George in the 2004-05 season, has scored 10,025 runs from his 294 innings (averaging 42.12) - including 56 not out stands.
In particular, 8,284 of those 10,025 runs came between 2010 and 2019 - seeing his average bump up 45.27.
During his Sydney career, which involved stints at Bankstown and Campbelltown-Camden, the 33-year-old has 21 centuries and 55 half-centuries to his name, including a high-score of 190 not out.
Of note was the 2014-15 campaign with the Bulldogs, where he scored 1527 runs, including five centuries, at an average of 101.8.
That pile of runs saw him become the 14th player in history to average 100 in Sydney grade cricket for the season, leading to him being awarded competition's batsmen of the year - joining the likes of Victor Trumper, Sir Donald Bradman, Doug Walters and Monty Noble to do so.
Joining Wells in the team of the decade are Greg Mail (Sydney University), Nick Larkin (Sydney University), David Dawson (UNSW), Adam Crosthwaite (Manly-Warringah and North Sydney), Ian Moran (Sydney University and Eastern Suburbs), Ahillen Beadle (Northern Districts, Eastern Suburbs and Manly-Warringah), Jarrad Burke (Bankstown and Campbelltown-Camden), Adam Semple (Randwick-Petersham), Trent Copeland (St George), Josh Lalor (Penrith) and Nic Bills (North Sydney, Manly-Warringah, Mosman and Sydney).
