Mollymook Surf Club life savers are all trained up and ready for the new season, and this long weekend, ensuring safe swimming between the red and yellow flags
Club Captain, Adam Woodward, said community safety was one of their main priorities.
"We are all aware of the COVID 19 situation and we will carry out our duties accordingly to ensure the safety of our volunteers and the beach going public," he said.
"We are expecting a busy long weekend, the weather forecast looks good and the visitors are already turning up.
"We ask that when on the beach people will apply the social distancing rules, to be at least a towel distance apart, and importantly swim between the red and yellow flags so we can look after you and avoid any disasters."
The volunteer lifesavers patrol weekends and public holidays at South Mollymook between 10.am and 3 pm.
South Mollymook is a great day out destination for the family.
With the spectacular Livvi's playground, cafes, takeaways, ample parklands and picnic areas, the golf club and the safety of the patrolled beach, something for everyone.
Captain Woodward said if you want to enjoy safe swimming for all your family come to South Mollymook.
"If you have any questions please come and ask us, we are there to care for you," he said.
