While large areas of the city suffered power outages as the area sweltered, Shoalhaven-based NSW Ambulance Paramedics were called to a number of incidents.
Four people in a car had a miraculous escape after a tree fell onto their vehicle bringing down powerlines and trapping the occupants inside the vehicle.
The vehicle was travelling on Jervis Bay Road when the nearby tree came down in the strong winds, bring powerlines with it onto the car.
The four occupants were trapped due to power lines until Endeavor Energy crews were able to cut the power.
Two occupants transported by ambulance to Shoalhaven District Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries
A male motorcyclist was airlifted to St George Hospital after crashing his motorbike on Cambewarra Mountain.
The man suffered arm and leg injuries.
The Toll NSW Ambulance Rescue Helicopter was unable to initially land at the scene due to strong winds.
He was eventually airlifted to St George in a stable condition
Crews were also called to a female kayaker missing in strong winds at Honeymoon Bay.
The woman was able to return to nearby Bindijine Beach, safe and well.
Fire Rescue NSW Nowra 405 station also had a busy day.
The crew's P405, CT405 and P440 vehicles were called to numerous power lines down incidents, a grass fire and an electrical fire.
The three crews along with P224 were also called to a house hire in North Nowra late in the afternoon.
The Kangaroo Valley Rural Fire Service also had a busy morning with the brigade called to a number of incidents due to the high winds but luckily no fires.
First was a call out to a tree over power lines on Tourist Road.
Energy crews isolated the power and the tree was chainsawed up and removed.
On return to station, crews were called to a large tree that had fallen on a house in the village.
Crews removed some fallen branches to make the area safe but will need additional resources to remove at a later date.
At the same time following another local report of a tree over Wattamolla Road, with another crew dispatched to investigate and remove.
