Member of the NSW Police Force, Jack Mitchell who is now stationed at Ulladulla, recently led the MacArthur Bulls Police Force Rugby League Club to glory.
The Bulls are one of the eight teams that clash each year in the annual NSW Police rugby league tournament.
This year the tournament was played in Tamworth and Mitchell's team had one thing on their minds - revenge.
The Bulls took on arch-rivals the Easts Wombats PRLFC in the final.
The Wombats last year won the title but in 2022 the Bulls squared up the ledger.
In what was a tough final, the Bulls recorded an 8-6 victory.
"It was my proudest moment in rugby league," the winning captain said.
The teams take this tournament seriously and there is always a bit of banter on the field.
To take the trophy, the Bulls had to play five games, played in 20-minute halves, in four days.
'It's a bit hard on the old body," Mitchell said about playing so many games.
He led the team from the key lock forward position.
Mitchell plays for the Bulls because he was once stationed in Campbelltown and is now classed as a life-long MacArthur player.
Following the tournament, a city and a country team were named to face off in May at Leichhardt Oval and Mitchell was named in the City squad.
He has been in the local area since August and will be running around for the Milton Ulladulla Bulldogs in the Group Seven competition.
"The Bulldogs have been great and being new in the area this was a good way to meet some of the local boys," he said.
Mitchell added the Bulldogs have had a good pre-season and were all looking forward to the season to start.
"We have definitely been putting in the effort at training over the preseason and the numbers are up from last year which is good," he said.
The poor weather has delayed the start of the Group Seven season.
The competition now looks to kick off after Easter starting the weekend of April 23-24.
