Marine Rescue Ulladulla volunteers launched their fast response vessel with three crew on board at about 2pm on June 25 following reports the jet ski, with one man on board, had broken down out to sea.
Unit commander Dave Hall said the man, believed to be in his 20s, and his vessel were “very close” to rocks when they arrived.
“He broke down very close to flat rock, near Rennies,” he said.
“He was fairly relaxed when we arrived.”
Mr Hall said it took the crew 45 minutes to tow the man and his vessel to Ulladulla Harbour.
The Moruya-based Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter became airborne but was called off en route.
