The new ground – which will be shared by the local Aussie Rules and cricket clubs – was used for the first time on Friday night with the Ulladulla Dockers defeating Albatross under lights.
Harley – who won two premierships with the Geelong Cats – told the Times that he was extremely impressed with the new facility and was particularly pleased to see it being used by students from Ulladulla High School yesterday afternoon for an AFL skills session.
Harley has family at Lake Conjola and visits the region on a fairly regular basis.
Yesterday’s visit was part of a three-day road trip in his official capacity with AFL NSW/ACT, meeting with AFL stakeholders up and down the coast.
Yesterday’s itinerary included stops in Bomaderry and at the HMAS Albatross Naval Base before travelling through to Ulladulla and finally Narooma.
