Mel Diver and Mark Whipp’s house was hard to miss this Christmas.
The Kings Point home came alive with Christmas lights and decorations, raising money for the Cancer Council.
“We raised $1800 for the Cancer Council from our donations tin that we kept out the front of the house whilst the lights were on, as well as from the barbeque and fun night we held on Christmas Eve
“We had Santa photos, face painting and a sausage sizzle- a big thankyou goes to Trent from South Ulladulla Meat Butchers who donated 150 sausages.”
Mel thanked the community for supporting the Christmas lights cause and donating to the Cancer Council.
The donation was dedicated to Diana Sare, a local who lost her battle to cancer in 2014.
“We’d also like to thank Santa for coming and his elf helpers, our nephews Seb, Zach, Zeke and Eli Diver and Kristy Reekie, Sally and Adam Diver and Kaye Diver for their help on the night with the barbeque and face painting,” Mel said.
The couple also won the Power Fm 94.9 radio Christmas Light Competition, winning $500 to donate to a chosen charity.
They elected to donate it to Gav Murray’s family after the Sussex Inlet man was killed in an accident on the Princes Highway just before Christmas.
