The Year 6 Milton Public School student will shave her head to raise funds for research into a terminal illness fellow student Holly Burns was diagnosed with at a young age.
Holly has Vanishing White Matter Leukodystrophy and is one of only seven Australian children – and 170 worldwide – battling the disease.
Cate said she wanted to shave her head for a charity, and decided to raise funds for Holly’s cause because she was a fellow student.
“I am going to shave my head on September 28, in the school hall. I am feeling good about it,” she said.
The school student is aiming to raise $1000 for the cause and is asking for people to sponsor her.
