The Mollymook resident, who lives with his wife Sheila, was joined was by his daughters Karyn Alexander, Kerri Clifford-Rodda, Kara Lee, granddaughter Kimberley Alexander and son-in-law Phil Rodda for an epic eight-hour walk up Didthul on Thursday, February 28.
Mrs Lee, now of Conjola, first walked up when she was just five years old in 1971. Her father and mother took their daughters caravanning and they visited the South Coast.
However, Mrs Lee was "too little" to climb the old ladder to the top. So, her father promised her a return trip when she was 13, but it wasn't until 2019, that she finally had the chance to take in the panoramic views of the Budawang Range and Morton National Park from the top, alongside her father and sisters.
Mrs Lee said it was absolutely worth the wait, almost 50 years later. "It was definitely one on the bucket list to re-do."
The group began walking about 9.30am and arrived at the the top about 1.15pm, before finishing the trail about 5.30pm.
A bus-load of schoolchildren from Canberra passed the group with their teacher pointing out they had no excuse if Mr Easton was doing the walk.
"It was a great achievement for my Dad to finish," she said.
The stairs challenged their father, but the whole family had his back, Mrs Lee said.
"We all suffered for three or four days afterward. His legs carried him very well."
