A large group of Rats gathered at the Lake Tabourie Caravan Park on Sunday morning to run the ever popular Lemon Tree Creek Loop. A range of distances were achieved from 10km to 15km with the exception of a few Rats who are building up larger distances for the Canberra Marathon in three weeks.

Conditions were very muggy but interesting conversation from Marty from his recent overseas trip helped to make it bearable. Coffee was enjoyed at Mavericks and a date has been set for the next Rats AGM. Please mark this in your calendar: Tuesday, April 9, 7pm start at the Star Hotel, Milton.
A massive congratulations goes out to Craig Hancock for his brilliant ride in the very hilly Blayney to Bathurst Cycle Classic. Craig completed 108.5km in a time of 3 hrs 12 mins with an average speed of 33.1km/h and a maximum elevation of 1030m. This was a personal best for Craig and we now look forward to seeing what he can do in the Canberra Marathon mid April.
Next Sunday, March 31, is the first of the Ulladulla RATS annual 5.5km and 10km Handicap series. Please arrive by 6.45am to register for a 7am start at Mollymook Surf Club
Saturday dawned cool and clear for Rats cyclists after the big wet of the night before. Fourteen riders met at Mountain Cycles for the Tour of the Beaches ride, which visits most of the beaches and points of interest from Dolphin Point to Narawallee. We welcomed two new riders, Wayne and Mandy - great to have you riding with us.
With Coby leading it didn't take long to reach our first stop where we witnessed a spectacular sunrise at the Lighthouse. It was then onto Dolphin, before returning to Mollymook and Narawallee via the secret rainforest bike track between Ulladulla and Village Drive.
Once we reached Mitchell Parade the KOM for the day (Clyde-Garside Climb segment) presented those wanting to test themselves with a nice little challenge (1.6km at 3.3 per cent grade). Winner of the individual KOM was Craig Hancock with a solid 3 mins 54 secs, closely followed by Phil Yardy with a 3:56, a new PR for both riders.
After finishing the Matron Porter/Leo Drive loop we reached Duke and Co, meeting up with another group of 7 Rats who had ridden the Pigeon House loop. Next week's ride is Pigeon House.
Just a reminder that the Bike Odyssey Berry Challenge is on Sunday, April 7 - this will form our Adventure Ride for April. More details to follow soon.
