Local doctors Dr Katie Macartney, Dr Leesa Osborne, Dr Declan Mulvaney, Dr James Walker and Dr Amanda Venables were transferred ownership on Friday, July 19.
In May Cornerstone and the group of doctors, who currently work at the centre, agreed to the sale.
The five doctors wanted to continue the growth of the practice and build on that success into the future and to expand upon the essential services currently provided.
"Today's announcement is fantastic news. As local doctors we look forward to operating the centre," Dr Macartney and Dr Osborne said in a statement.
"Each of us live locally and are involved with local groups like the Mollymook Golf Club, Mollymook Surf Lifesaving club, Milton Ulladulla Touch Football , Mollymook Outriggers and Makai paddlers, the Milton Show and the Milton Equestrian scene. We are looking forward to deepening those relationships,"
Dr Macartney and Dr Osborne confirmed that the outreach services for residents of the Sarah Claydon Residential Village will continue, as well as a Thursday afternoon antenatal clinic with midwife Lyn grey.
Skin cancer clinics and comprehensive diabetes care facilitated by a diabetes educator will also continue.
In November 2016 Dr Brett Thomson sold the Milton Medical Centre to Cornerstone. Cornerstone extended the opening hours of the practice and also opened up access to bulk billing.
Cornerstone invested in the doctors working at the Milton Medical Centre and also recruited new doctors into the centre to help service the health needs of the local community, a spokesperson said.
Cornerstone Health Pty Limited CEO, Henry Bateman, who also has a local presence in Milton said the decision to sell was made easier by the fact that the group of doctors were committeed to continuing the success of the practice.
"They were part of the changes that were put in place and ultimately patients should benefit from a smooth transition," Mr Bateman said.
"Obviously, the doctors will have their own ideas and initiatives for the future but Cornerstone is very pleased that their vision will be based on a strong foundation to continue to provide high quality and comprehensive care to the community".
The Milton Medical Centre's new hours are 8am and to 6.00pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1.00pm on Saturdays, with appointments available during these hours.
The clinic will be closed on Sundays and public holidays. New and existing patients can phone 02 4455 5755 to make an appointment.
