Markus Zusak, author of the 'The Book Thief', 'Bridge of Clay' and 'The Messenger' posted a video on the Manyana Matters Facebook page explaining why the land should be saved from the bulldozers.
Zusak, "a passionate South Coast lover" sent Manyana Matters a "beautiful and eloquent message of support".
He asks an important question in his video.
Zusak asks - "how do we want to be remembered by this?'
"We all know what happened last summer. Men and women risked their lives to save pockets of land," he added.
Meanwhile, the land is still far from being saved from development.
Manyana Matters, last week, did get an undertaking from the developer that they would get 14 days notice when the clearing would start.
Environmental studies at the site are continuing and the community-based campaign is also ongoing.
