Renee, a well known local resident, is facing major health issue and the community is supporting her in droves.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018.

Renee fought hard to beat stage three breast cancer, having a double mastectomy then rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Renee has now been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

Her friend Tracy Surace is one of many people supporting Renee in her time of need.

Tracy sent up the mycause "Renee's Fight For Life" page.

"Renee is the most courageous lady I have ever known," Tracy said.

"She always looks on the bright side of life.

"Renee is an honest, positive person always willing to help others. She has donated a lot of time to the scouts."

Tracy has known Renee and her husband Laurence for many years

"Renee, Laurence and I went to school together at Ulladulla High School," Tracy said.

"Renee has the most wicked sense of humour and I think that's what keeps her so positive in life.

"Laurence is just a gentleman and their children Kesley, Carolyn and Douglas are just beautiful."

Many people would know Renee because she worked at Capital Chemist Ulladulla for many years.

Her workmates are also supporting their friend.

"Renee is funny, kind, and caring. She is a good person," workmate Pieta said.

Capital Chemist is also collecting donations and people can also leave Renee a message of support.

Capital Chemist on Thursday, September 10 will be holding a fundraising event that will include some head shaves.

Details on the fundraising day are still being worked on.

Renee truly appreciates that support.

"You think you're a fairly obscure and unimportant person in the community until something like this happens," Renee said.

"You're just doing your job, being yourself, and living what you think is an ordinary life. "

This community is mind-blowingly awesome at making people feel they are valued and have self-worth."
