It appears Grant also now needs a new phone.
"Robert from Telstra eventually came to my house and did some tests with my phone compared with his," Grant said.
"It turns out that the 3G signal up here, while "acceptable" to them, is not strong enough to give me reliable service on my phone.
"Why this has changed from a few months ago when service was good seems to be unknown.
"My device, while quite new, also has problems using the 4G signal which is stronger than 3G up here.
"They strongly advise me to get another 'Telstra approved phone' - my Motorola is not approved.
"The great question of how the reception was good before and not now has never been answered."
Grant is now deciding which phone to get and we will let you know if it works.
