Hosted by Treading Lightly, more than 120 people turned up to the Milton Hotel to enjoy the event.
Treading Lightly's vice president Miffy Stephens said it was a very informative evening with important updates on our marine sanctuaries and what you can do to help protect these critical areas of our backyard.
"Everyone commented that they learnt a lot and signed the petition to have Batemans Bay sanctuary zones reinstated," she said.
Treading Lightly held a Marine Lovers video competition asking people to tell why they thought our oceans were so important, what they loved about them and how they would like to see the ocean protected.
The films were screened and the winners were announced. The primary winner was Archie Bartlett, the high school winner was Lulu Johnston and the winner in the adult section was Takesa Frank.
The winners of each category received a GoPro, thanks to Aqua Surf and Treading Lightly sponsors.
"The further these beautiful videos are shared the better to ensure the government listens to the community and takes action," Miffy said.
In attendance was Federal member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips and Independent MP Justin Field.
