The street library was started two years ago by Chris Rowden and his wife as a means of keeping the joy of reading alive, particularly as some major bookstores were beginning to close their doors.
The pair purchased a bedside cabinet from the Ulladulla tip and converted it into a tiny book case with glass doors.
It quickly became a book lover's haven and five months ago Chris received a donation of a large cupboard from the Mollymook Medical Centre. The converted piece now proudly houses books and DVDs of all genres.
Chris encouraged everyone to come and grab a book or a DVD to help pass the time or keep the kids entertained during lockdown.
"We have plenty of books as well as a mixture of DVDs, with children DVDs also available. They're yours to keep or return and they are all free," he said.
Chris maintains the street library daily, keeping it tidy and ensures all items are sanitised.
He said he enjoys seeing regular readers return again and again - with even the local postie known to grab a title or two on the mail run.
"It's just something nice for the community and people love it's really tidy and there's such a wide range of of titles," Chris said.
The Street Library is located on Matron Porter Drive, Narrawallee outside Chris Rowden Massage.
