The well-known historical writer has focussed exclusively on Mollymook in his new book.
Alex last examined Mollymook in his 1989 book, Memoirs of Mollymook, Milton and Ulladulla.
“Mollymook has changed so much in 25 years,” he said.
“It has grown tremendously, with residents flocking from Canberra, Sydney and even overseas.”
Alex has been working on his latest book for about six months, reworking the Mollymook sections of previous books and gathering information from the last 25 years to add.
While Alex is a Sydney resident, he has been coming to Narawallee for 38 years with his family and is passionate about the area and its history.
“Many people choose to retire here, but we like to be with our family,” he said.
While the majority of his books have been written after his retirement, he did write three books while he was a language professor at the University of Sydney.
