There will be two major school events to be held at the Centre in May – June. These are the: the Schools’ Choral and Verse Speaking sections which are two of many highlights.
At the SEC last week, Sshools’ convenor Mrs Ona Frazier highlighted the great opportunity the Eisteddfod provides for schools to showcase their achievements in vocal and instrumental music, dance and speech and drama.
In addition to the fantastic experience of performing on the stage of our state of the art Entertainment Centre, all Shoalhaven school entrants are considered for two special awards: The Helen Ring Award from Shoalhaven City Council Arts Board and the $1000 Schools Encouragement Award.
Mrs Frazier encouraged all school communities to participate in the many school sections listed in the Eisteddfod syllabus which can be accessed on the Eisteddfod website: www.shoalhaveneisteddfod.org.au
All schools have been sent a copy of the syllabus.
Individual and community group entrants can collect a copy of the syllabus from the City Library, City Arts Centre and Mmsic shops in Berry and Nowra.
