The work will be funded under the Federal Black Spot Programme.
These projects fund the installation of traffic lights and roundabouts at locations where crashes occur.
Five yearly data from the NSW Centre for Road Safety shows there has been one serious car crash at the intersection in 2014.
However, the community believe there are more problematic intersections in the area that need to be addressed.
“I just can’t understand why they keep putting roundabouts in places where they aren’t needed,” resident Dee Kemp said.
“There are lots of spots here where a roundabout would be great, but this isn’t one.”
Construction is scheduled to commence in the coming months.
