Wildlife Rescue South Coast has started an appeal for wildlife injured or displaced during the bushfires.
The group is calling for donations to lessen the burden as its carers start rehabilitating native animals injured during the bushfires.
Carers too often see the suffering of animals following devastating fires.
Many of these injured native animals will need medications and food to cover the weeks and months in care before they are returned to the wild a committee spokesperson said.
“Many of our members pay for this out of their own pockets, and we are seeking some support to alleviate these costs.”
