The gates opened to the Milton Showground for the 2019 event about 8am on Friday, March 1. Cars steadily streamed into the parking lots of the showground, under the guidance of friendly RFS and show committee volunteers, while students and pre-school children began to arrive by the busload.
Inside, patrons began browsing the decoratively laid-out displays of produce, arts and crafts, preserves, plants, photography and baked goods after the pavilion opened at 9am.
There was not a spare seat by the cattle judging arena as some of the best breeds were lead by local dairy farmers, while the showjumping competition had 48 entrants in the open's 70cm competition.
Crowds are expected to roll in throughout the day with the grand parade at 1pm and the official opening of the anniversary show at 1.30pm. The pavilion closes at 7pm when all eyes will be on the rodeo in the main arena.
