Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock MP welcomed the new police officers to the South Coast and congratulated them on successfully completing their training.
"On behalf of the community, I am pleased to be able to welcome our newest police officers," Mrs Hancock said.
The new police recruits were sworn in at an attestation parade in Goulburn attended by Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliott, NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller APM, Her Excellency the Hon. Margaret Beazley and Premier Dominic Perrottet.
The probationary officers will be assigned to Police Area Commands and Police Districts across the state after taking their oath of office.
Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliott welcomed the new recruits, noting they were joining a well-equipped, versatile and modern police force.
"The NSW Government has committed to invest $583 million to introduce 1500 extra police over four years to enhance community safety across NSW and is investing $60 million over four years to upgrade the Police Academy at Goulburn," he said.
Class 350 includes 163 men and 55 women. A total of 26 recruits were born overseas in countries including Afghanistan, Colombia, Greece, Hong Kong, Iraq, Italy, Ivory Coast, Jamaica and Solomon Islands.
Some recruits entered the NSW Police Academy straight from school or university, while others left established professional careers and trades.
The recruits have completed eight months of foundational training and those allocated to commands within the south coast reported to their stations from Monday, December 6, 2021.
