"The whole of our village was on fire," welcome to Bawley Point on Thursday when Armageddon smashed into town.
Armageddon, of course, was the Currowan Fire and on Thursday Bawley Point flared up.
Speak to residents along the Shearwater Crescent section of the village and some of the things they tell you makes you shudder.
You hear of flames 20 metres high bearing down on the residents and some stood ready to do battle with garden hoses in their hands.
They did not have to face this situation by themselves - the emergency service teams came in and helped save the village.
"We will be forever grateful to them (all the firefighters)," one resident said.
All local communities now rightly see the firefighters as heroes.
Today (Friday) was calmer but the beast was far from done.
Firefighters had to respond to several active fires in the Tallawalla Road area and soon had them under control.
