Most comments, suggestions and questions during an online Facebook forum on Monday, December 7 were in opposition to the recently announced "preferred bypass option".
Transport NSW's preferred option brings motorists out to Burrill Lake and funnels traffic through places like Lake Tabourie.
Monday's meeting was an informal one and not held to provide the community or media with any official statements.
It was held to give the community the chance to have their questions answered and take part in the consultation process.
However, many people did not get their questions answered as the forum only went for close to 30 minutes.
As they listened, residents let fly with comments and questions.
Residents want to be heard.
"We don't want the preferred corridor. You already know why the other options are needed - no one wants a Burrill/bypass intersection. Stop calling it preferred. Listen to the community who know this won't work," was one of the many comments.
Build it once and build it right was another suggestion.
"The local community is not happy with the bypass that exits at Canberra Crescent," the resident commented.
"Your modelling has indicated that you are expecting an increase in traffic to 2049 exceeding the capacity of the Burrill Lake roundabouts, Burrill Lake bridge and single lane roads through Tabourie.
Not everyone is against the preferred option.
"If you disagree then disagree but don't suggest it goes west," was one view put forward by another resident
"It's not the only option. It seems people are complaining about the Burrill exit. Where else do you propose it come out then?"
The meeting was told bypass alternatives have been investigated which was followed by investigated into the various corridors - then four were identified.
The advantages and disadvantage of the corridors were invested and then the preferred LEP option was announced.
The audience was told that more of a process involved than just during a line on a map.
People are urged to take part in the process by completing the online survey and emailing Transport NSW.
Residents have until December 20 to make comments.
Some people suggested Transport NSW needs to send someone to a community rally this Sunday at Burrill Lake.
"If you are really interested in the views of the local community you should come to the rally. The survey is rigged and does not include our views at all," the resident said.
The Burrill Lake Community Association invites residents to participate in a rally to be held at 10am on Sunday, December 13 at Burrill Lake to rally against the preferred Milton-Ulladulla bypass route that would funnel traffic and create unnecessary congestion into Burrill Lake.
The Burrill Lake Community Association asks that everyone meet at the Lions Park on the southern side of Burrill Lake Bridge Date Sunday, December 13 at 9.45am at the large picnic shelter.
The rally will then proceed to the corner Princes Highway and Canberra Crescent and should finish by 11.30am.
The Burrill Lake association has also invited various local representative state and federal politicians along with Shoalhaven Councillors to attend the rally.
