The Milton Ulladulla Rugby League Club junior was recently named in the St George Illawarra's NRLW squad for the rescheduled competition set to kick off in late February.
It was her dream to become a Dragon.
"It [the selection] was a bit surreal - I did not see it coming," she added.
"Getting in the squad was always my goal but I thought it would happen down the track.
"I plan to make the most of this opportunity and will see what comes out of it."
The Milton Ulladulla junior was part of the Dragons' Academy but COVID-19 made things difficult for her, her team-mates and the coaching staff.
Keele said over the COVID lockdown period the focus was on strength and fitness.
The outside back [wing/centre] likes the team aspect of the game and supporting her team-mates.
"I am big on communication and working with the players next to me," she said.
The squad recently had their first meeting with new coach Jaime Soward.
The 19-year-old said it was good to meet her team-mates and intends to learn everything she can from the more experienced players.
She could not believe she was running next to the likes of Emma Tonegato, who has represented Australia in rugby sevens and rugby league.
Keele added NRL Dragons premiership player Soward, as a coach, had much to offer.
"I am excited about the upcoming season - that is for sure," she said.
The season gets underway late February and Keele will be happy with whatever role she is given.
"I won't be disappointed if I am not selected for the first game," she said.
As one of the younger members of the squad Keele said she may not even make her debut in season 2022.
However, if the chance comes her way she will grab it.
Defense is an area she plans to work on and added she wants her team-mates to be able to trust her defensive reads
She is studying for a BA in exercise science which she said goes hand in hand with her Dragons' commitments.
